IJA Archives & Historical Collection
The IJA Archives & Historical Collection, comprised of organizational records, books, photographs,
film and video, posters, ephemera, props, and wardrobe items related to the art, sport, and craft of juggling, is currently in secure storage at the headquarters of JUGGLE magazine in Las Vegas, Nevada. On February 21-24, 2008, a five-person IJA archives team convened in Las Vegas to address the multiple needs of this neglected resource. The four days of concentrated work involved museum-standard assessment, preservation/conservation, accession and cataloging, digitization, and storage. Follow-up research was undertaken and descriptive text was prepared for a selection of the digitized photos and props. Much work remains on this project, with the ultimate goal of making a cross-referenced collection accessible via the Internet. The list (with links) below represents just the very first small sampling selected from the 100-plus objects cataloged during the first stage of collections work.
